We all wish that Omicron is the end of COVID-19. Omicron has proved to be the most infective variant among SARS-CoV-2. Based on modelling, its predicted that Omicron would have infected more than half of the population around the globe, and with extensive vaccination, the virus may peter out as a smaller number of unprotected hosts to infect. Epidemic Influenza is a good example. Furthermore, in order to survive, the virus need to ensure that the host will survive too.
